About Gemma

I took my pelvic floor healing into my own hands when squeezing and releasing at traffic lights and advert breaks just wasn’t cutting the mustard.

I was fed up with making excuses to my kids and just looking on as the rest of the family had fun at the park or bounced with uncontrollable giggles at the trampoline centre.

It is lonely, it makes you feel old and worn out and not exactly desirable to hubbie either. I wasn’t going to settle for that.

As a POSTNATAL EXERCISE COACH I was already signed up to the fact that movement is indeed medicine and this was exactly how I healed my pelvic floor.

However, I understand that as a mum time is scarce and it takes a lot of brain power to fully engage with something when you are not sure about the process.

This is why I have developed “Strike a (pelvic floor) pose”. To introduce you to the world of movement and to see the impact it can have on your pelvic floor and the rest of your body.

How Does Strike a (pelvic floor) Pose Work?

Strike a (pelvic floor) pose is designed to kickstart your pelvic floor recovery and give you a taster into the world of movement. There are many factors that can affect pelvic floor function but my first port of call is always breathing and posture.

Why? Because the pelvic floor works in harmony with your breath. The pelvic floor also functions at it’s best if it is at its optimum position within the pelvis.

So strike a pose looks at how you breathe and the position of your body (alignment). Then along with 30 minute 1:2:1 zoom session a mini selection of movements & releases personalised to your body are created.

These movements are all designed to get you breathing in sync with your pelvic floor and help you try something different with your posture to help your pelvic floor work in unison with your body.

Here’s The Process

 

1) Take 3 full body photographs of yourself standing naturally. You will receive a photo guide in your welcome email once you sign up.

2) These photos help Gemma see where your body is at and what exercises may help you.

3) Book in your 30 minute 1:2:1 zoom session with Gemma. Don’t worry this isn’t to pick holes in you as you are doing great.  It is just to see if there is something different you can try that may help alleviate symptoms.

4) Enjoy and practise your personalised exercises to help turn your body into the best environment for pelvic floor healing.

What Do You Get?

Once you sign up you will receive an email with instructions on how to take your photo and on how to book your 30 minute 1:2:1 zoom session with Gemma.

N

During your zoom session, Gemma will look at how you move, stand and breathe. With this and your photographs Gemma will send you a PDF with your posture assessment and a personalised selection of exercises & releases to help you on your way to pelvic floor happiness.

You will get 1-3 exercises for each aspect of your body that may benefit from something different. This will end in a total of between 6-10 exercises for you to practise.

You are then advised to practise your movements over at least a 4 week period.

N

What You Can Do Next?

To make a difference you need to practise these exercises and releases daily. It’s no good just watching the video – for pelvic floor recovery you have to work at it. But my goodness it’s worth it!
